Area Attractions - Palladio looks attentively at the elegant game of light and shape of the Basilica Palladiana. Thanks to the works of art by the great architect Vicenza has been included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.   On the hills around Vicenza we can see Villa Almerico Capra di Valmarana named La Rotonda. It is the most famous and the most imitated work by Palladio. With its four identical sides, the villa slowly discloses its artistic originality to the surprised eye of the onlooker.  ASIAGO, Ski resort and more: The Altopiano of Asiago presents a rich program of events every year.   Recoaro, located nearby,is a well-known spa that has been a center for relaxing and therapeutic holidays from the time of Serenissima Republic of Venice. Count Lelio Piovene, in 1689, made publicly known the importance of the mineral waters from the local springs. It is presumed, however, that those living in the valley had long known of the beneficial qualities of the water. The first spa amenities were installed in 1780. The curative powers of the waters are of particular value for treating problems of the digestive and of the urinary apparatus, those due to iron deficiency, and liver conditions. There are three kinds of water: ferrous-earthy-alkaline-sulphate-bicarbonate, oligomineral, and ferrous-alkaline-bicarbonate.   The mountains of Recoaro provide a delightful panorama in both summer and winter: Recoaro Mille is an important place for winter holidays, offering the possibility of practicing both alpine and nordic skiing.   The sport of parapente also has a good following at Recoaro, and novices can learn the techniques under the guidance of the nationally designated instructor on hand there.   The Sette Comuni becomes a huge Performing Arts Centre.   Shows, concerts, displays and exhibitions meetings with famous people, awards, competitions and much more.  Lectures by film-directors, writers and scientists; tv-shows and debates on important topics.   For philatelists there is the world-famous Premio Inrternazionale Asiago d*Arte Filatelica, and for art-lovers the week-long International Competition of Wood Sculpture.   To be remembered is also the traditional Marciabianca, a fomuos annual cross-country ski competition.   In all towns of the Altopiano, from the smallest to the biggest, you can always combine your holiday pleasure with culture and fun.

• : FROM MILANO-VENICE MOTORWAY: BEST EXIT IS VICENZA EST, FOLLOW DIRECTIONS FOR CITY CENTER - STADIUM FROM TRAIN STATION: Take Bus N.3 and STOP at STADIUM (stadio). TAXIS: Stationed at the Train Station (approximate cost 5/6 Euro). The nearest airports are located in Venice, Verona, Treviso at about 50 km. Milano Linate is 200 km away.
